Yes. MellowTube does not store any of your query parameters or input links. The fetching happens dynamically between your browser and the serverless APIs, keeping your session private.
You can inspect your browser's network tab. Video streams are piped directly from Cobalt's decentralized endpoints into the browser's download client through standard streams. No data is cached or saved on intermediate servers.
MellowTube supports all standard YouTube resolutions from 144p up to 1440p (2K) as long as they are available on the source video. There are no size limits, though larger resolutions (1080p and 1440p) may take a few seconds to remux on the fly.
To calculate file sizes and download remaining times, MellowTube needs the video's exact duration. Since Cloudflare's server IP addresses are heavily rate-limited by YouTube, we query the duration directly inside your browser via the YouTube Player API using your home IP address, bypassing any backend blocks.
